Baseball Recap: Michigan Lutheran Has No Trouble Against Eau Claire

While Michigan Lutheran put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Eau Claire. The Titans put the hurt on the Beavers with a sharp 16-0 win. The match marked the Titans' most dominant victory of the season.

Lincoln Coburn made a big impact while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits over five innings pitched. Coburn was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double and one RBI. Those three hits gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Michigan Lutheran got a massive performance out of Micah Herbst, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The Titans are 4-1 when Herbst posts two or more stolen bases, but 5-9 otherwise. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Liebich, who went 3-for-5 with four stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Michigan Lutheran was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .548. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .318 or higher in nine consecutive contests.

Michigan Lutheran's record now sits at 9-10. As for Eau Claire, they are on an 18-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-11.
