Softball Recap: Barnum Takes a Loss

Barnum easily dispatched Moose Lake/Willow River on Friday, but unfortunately both the margin and the ultimate result were a different story in this one. The Bombers fell just short of the Cherry Tigers by a score of 9-7 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Bombers have suffered since April 26, 2024.

Barnum moved to 9-4 with that loss, which also ended their three-game winning streak. As for Cherry, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-3 record this season.

Barnum will head out on the road to challenge Kelley at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Cherry, they will be playing in front of their home fans against South Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday.
