Recap: Cairo Pilots vs. Thompsonville

The Cairo Pilots can finally bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They came out on top against Thompsonville by a score of 67-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.

Leading Cairo to victory were Jeserick Pilgram and McKenlee Pirtle. Pilgram scored 19 points, while Pirtle scored 25 points.

Cairo's win bumped their record up to 6-12. As for Thompsonville, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-18 record this season.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cairo's road trip will continue as they head out to face Caruthersville at 6:00 p.m. on January 22nd. Caruthersville knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine matchups -- so hopefully Cairo likes a good challenge. Thompsonville will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Crab Orchard at 6:00 p.m. on January 30th. Crab Orchard has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 1,359 points over their last 18 matchups.
