Football Recap: Donovan Moss Key Part of Team Effort in Christians Win

University Christian won the last time they faced Impact Christian Academy and things went their way on Friday too. The Christians blew past the Lions 42-16. The Christians might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won three games by 26 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead University Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Donovan Moss, who rushed for 82 yards and one touchdown. Jon Asbey was another key back, rushing for 55 yards and one TD.

University Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off four passes before the game was over. It was truly a group effort as Amare Mack, Justin Grant, Zion Davis, and Corbin Ellis picked up one apiece. Davis got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

University Christian's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 4-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 7.3 points on average over those games. As for Impact Christian Academy, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. University Christian will take on Santa Fe at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Impact Christian Academy, they will square off against Chiles at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
