After a string of four wins, Jefferson Independent Day's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. They took a 57-47 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Pleasant Hope Pirates.

Despite the defeat, Jefferson Independent Day saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Jack Twiss went 8-for-15 on his way to 17 points and three steals. Kohl Thurman was another key player, almost dropping a double-double with ten points and nine boards.

Jefferson Independent Day's loss dropped their record down to 16-11. As for Pleasant Hope, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.

As of now, neither Jefferson Independent Day nor Pleasant Hope have any future games scheduled.
