Basketball Recap: West Shamokin Victorious

West Shamokin won the last time they faced Conemaugh Township and things went their way on Tuesday too. The West Shamokin Wolves walked away with a 59-46 victory over the Conemaugh Township Indians.

Jacob Allen continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 11 for 21 on his way to 29 points. Alex Talmadge was another key player, going 5 of 8 en route to 15 points and three steals.

Ethan Matera and Colin Dinyar certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Matera went 9 for 14 on his way to 21 points and eight rebounds, while Dinyar posted 11 points and eight boards. With that strong performance, Matera is now averaging an impressive 15.1 points per game. Another player making a difference was Stephen Stango, who scored eight points.

West Shamokin's win bumped their record up to 17-4. As for Conemaugh Township, their defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6.

When West Shamokin and Conemaugh Township next hit the court, they'll be up against teams who recently just can't seem to lose. West Shamokin will take on Portage and their three-game winning streak at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. West Shamokin is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 56.8 points per game this season. Meanwhile, Conemaugh Township will try to stop North Star's four-game winning streak when the meet at 7:15 p.m. on Friday.
