Volleyball Game Preview: Crownpoint Eagles vs. Zuni Thunderbirds + How To Watch

The Crownpoint Eagles will take on the Zuni Thunderbirds at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Considering both teams were shutout in their prior games, the pair is probably coming into this one with something to prove.

Crownpoint is headed into the matchup having just suffered their biggest defeat since August 30th on Tuesday. They came up short against Legacy Academy, falling 3-0. Considering the last time the Eagles couldn't score was back in August, the team can't take the result too hard.

The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-13, 25-10.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Zuni faced off against Navajo Prep on Tuesday. The Thunderbirds lost 3-0 to the Eagles. The loss continues a trend for the Thunderbirds in their meetings with the Eagles: they've now lost eight in a row.

While Zuni ultimately came up short, they really made Navajo Prep work, particularly in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-22, 26-24, 25-12.

Crownpoint's defeat dropped their record down to 8-4. As for Zuni, they now have a losing record of 6-7.

Everything went Crownpoint's way against Zuni in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as Crownpoint made off with a 3-0 victory. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Thunderbirds have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
