Basketball Recap: Hilton Head Prep Comes Up Short

Hilton Head Prep lost against Palmetto Christian Academy back in December of 2017, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Hilton Head Prep Dolphins fell 71-62 to Palmetto Christian Academy. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (58), the Dolphins still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Hilton Head Prep lost, don't look at Courtney Campbell. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double with 36 points and 12 boards. That was a full 58.1% of Hilton Head Prep's points, marking the ninth time in a row Campbell has posted more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sophie Moe, who put up two points and 12 rebounds.

Even though they lost, Hilton Head Prep smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 19 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've posted since back in December of 2023.

Hilton Head Prep's loss dropped their record down to 16-9. As for Palmetto Christian Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 18-11 record this season.

Looking ahead, Hilton Head Prep will face off against Florence Christian on Monday. Hilton Head Prep is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.6 points per game this season. As for Palmetto Christian Academy, they didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 43-31 defeat against Ben Lippen on the 14th.
