Recap: West Brunswick Trojans vs. North Brunswick Scorpions
After a string of three wins, the West Brunswick Trojans's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They were beaten by North Brunswick 68-30. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points West Brunswick has scored all season.
Despite the loss, West Brunswick had strong showings from K'Veon Griffin, who scored eight points along with six rebounds and two steals, and Tristen Roberts, who scored six points.
West Brunswick struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. They were crushed by their opponents in that department as North Brunswick racked up 12 assists.
North Brunswick got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Caleb Bernard out in front who scored 15 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Terry Hood, who scored nine points along with five rebounds and three steals.
West Brunswick's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for North Brunswick, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. West Brunswick will take on South Brunswick at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for North Brunswick, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Ashley at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Ashley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 314th, while North Brunswick is ranked 109th).
