Softball Game Preview: Bunker Hill Bears vs. Maiden Blue Devils

The Bunker Hill Bears will look to take advantage of their home field for the first time this season as they take on the Maiden Blue Devils at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Bunker Hill will be strutting in after a win while Maiden will be coming in after a loss.

Bunker Hill is coming home in high spirits after they had to open their season on the road against Hickory. The Bears were the clear victors by a 20-4 margin over the Red Tornadoes on Wednesday.

Kyra Ryhal and Serena Thurman did most of the damage at the plate: Ryhal got on base in all five of her plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI, while Thurman went 3-for-4 with four runs, two stolen bases, and three doubles. Those four runs gave Thurman a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Gracie Setzer, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple.

Meanwhile, Maiden suffered their biggest defeat since March 12, 2025 on Wednesday. They lost 14-1 to North Lincoln.
