Volleyball Recap: Pioneer's Win on Wednesday Extends Winning Streak to Four

Pioneer entered their tilt with Silver Creek on Wednesday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They came out on top against the Raiders by a score of 3-1. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in April.

Pioneer had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first set, they turned around to win the next three. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-27, 28-26, 25-9, 25-13.

Miguel Smurl paced Pioneer's offense, picking up 25 kills. Smurl got some help from Diego Ansaldo and his 35 assists. Cole Murdock controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Pioneer's win was their fifth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 17-4. As for Silver Creek, they have been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 10-21 record this season.

Pioneer will challenge Monterey at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Silver Creek does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
