Soccer Game Preview: Riverside vs. Independence

Riverside hasn't had much luck against Independence recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Ram will square off against Independence at 7:00 p.m.

Riverside came into their game on Monday off a hard-fought close win, but unfortunately suffered a serious change of fortune. They came up short against Lightridge, falling 3-0.

Meanwhile, Independence put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over Stone Bridge. Fans of Independence have seen this all before: every one of the games they've played this season has ended in a blowout of 3+ goals.

Riverside's loss was their first in the region, dropping their region record down to 1-1-1 and their overall record down to 5-2-2. As for Independence, they pushed their record up to 9-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Riverside suffered a grim 7-0 defeat to Independence in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Can the Ram avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
