Mead is 8-2 against Silver Creek since January of 2015 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Mead Mavericks will head out on the road to take on the Silver Creek Raptors at 7:00 p.m. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, the two teams will really light up the scoreboard.

Having struggled with three losses in a row, Mead turned things around against Riverdale Ridge on Wednesday. They came out on top against the Ravens by a score of 67-55.

Silver Creek has been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 62-56 heartbreaker at the hands of Erie.

Mead will need focus on slowing down Cooper Herchert, one of several Silver Creek players who made an impact when they last played. He dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Herchert is becoming a predictor of Silver Creek's success: when he posts at least eight rebounds the team is undefeated (and 1-2 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Henry Pendergrass, who posted nine points.

Mead's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Silver Creek, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-2.

Mead didn't have too much breathing room in their contest against Silver Creek when the teams last played back in February of 2024, but they still walked away with a 56-50 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mead since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
