Baseball Recap: Halfway Extends Home Winning Streak to Five

Halfway had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.5 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Wednesday. They were the clear victors by a 12-2 margin over the Ash Grove Pirates. The Cardinals might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 16 matchups by six runs or more this season.

Halfway pushed their record up to 21-7 with the win, which was their fifth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Ash Grove, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 11-11-1 record this season.

Halfway and Ash Grove will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next games. The next time the Cardinals see the field they'll take on El Dorado Springs at 4:30 p.m. on June 5. As for Ash Grove, their break will end when they face Early at 5:30 p.m. on June 3.
