Colebrook Academy has gone 7-2 against Pittsburg recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Monday. The Mohawks beat Moultonborough Academy on Friday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 15-2. The victory continues a trend for the Mohawks in their matchups with the Panthers: they've now won five in a row.
Vinny Santamaria and Dylan Dauphnais made a big impact no matter where they played. Throwing, Santamaria pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Dauphnais struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits (and not a single walk). At bat, Santamaria went 2-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI, while Dauphnais went 1-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Colebrook Academy let Jackson Weir and Kamren Dowse run wild. Weir went 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Dowse went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Rory Shaw, who went 2-for-4 with two runs and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Pittsburg fell victim to Woodsville and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They came up short against the Engineers, falling 10-0. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Engineers recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Colebrook Academy pushed their record up to 2-0 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road dating back to last season. The team's perfect season has a lot to do with their hitting performance: the team's won by an average of 10.7 runs thus far. As for Pittsburg, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Everything went Colebrook Academy's way against Pittsburg when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Colebrook Academy made off with an 18-5 victory. Will the Mohawks repeat their success, or do the Panthers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
