Volleyball Recap: Blanche Ely Starts Season with Defeat at Home

Blanche Ely unfortunately couldn't capitalize on their home-court advantage in their season opener. They lost 3-0 to the Piper Bengals on Tuesday. Sadly, the loss continues a streak the team started last season, making it 13 in a row.

Blanche Ely took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-2, 25-8, 25-11.

Piper's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Auria Paul, who had seven kills, four digs, three aces, and one block. Another player making a difference was Aishalin Kinyua, who had six digs and six aces.

The win got Piper back to even at 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Blanche Ely will welcome Dillard at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Piper, they will look to defend their home court on Thursday against Somerset Academy at 6:00 p.m.
