Recap: Aquinas Blugolds vs. Holmen Vikings
The Aquinas Blugolds scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Friday. They put the hurt on Holmen with a sharp 93-69 win. The win was nothing new for Aquinas as they're now sitting on five straight.
Aquinas found their leader in underclassman Samantha Davis, who scored 28 points along with seven rebounds and five steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which Davis has scored at least 25% of Aquinas' points. Madeline Murphy was another key contributor, going 7 for 9 from beyond the arc en route to 21 points and 1 assists.
Aquinas pushed their record up to 6-2 with that victory, which was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season. They've been dominating during the matches in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.86 points. As for Holmen, they now have a losing record at 4-5.
Aquinas will head out on the road to face off against La Crosse Central at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. La Crosse Central will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Wisconsin Rankings (they are ranked 219th, while Aquinas is ranked 103rd). Holmen will be home for the holidays to greet Marshfield at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
