Baseball Recap: St. Mary Central Catholic Triumphs

St. Mary Central Catholic hadn't done well against St. Paul recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. The Panthers came out on top against the Flyers by a score of 10-5. This was payback for the Panthers, who suffered a 10-4 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Reid Wikel was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing three bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Brayden Gill, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances.

St. Mary Central Catholic's record is now 2-0. As for St. Paul, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 1-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. St. Mary Central Catholic will face off against Port Clinton at 4:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for St. Paul, they will take on Mohawk at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
