Softball Recap: Liberty Takes a Loss

Liberty was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They fell 9-5 to the Shadow Ridge Mustangs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Mustangs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 4-3 two weeks ago.

Danielle Luvanos was cooking despite her team's loss, going 3-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jaydah Chun, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one double.

Liberty's record is now 12-7-2. As for Shadow Ridge, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 12-7.

Looking ahead, Liberty will square off against Basic at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Patriots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Wolves have averaged an impressive 6.2 runs per game this season. Shadow Ridge does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
