Preview: Gunter Tigers vs. Henrietta Bearcats
The Gunter Tigers will be playing at home against the Henrietta Bearcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Henrietta took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Gunter, who comes in off a win.
Even though Pottsboro scored an imposing 61 points on Friday, Gunter still came out on top. Gunter had just enough and edged Pottsboro out 63-61. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win Gunter has posted yet this season.
Meanwhile, Henrietta's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Tuesday after their sixth straight loss. They lost to Jacksboro on the road by a decisive 69-50 margin. Henrietta has struggled against Jacksboro recently, as their match on Tuesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
The victory makes it two in a row for Gunter and bumps their season record up to 12-9. As for Henrietta, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost 11 of their last 14 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-14 record this season.
Everything went Gunter's way against Henrietta in their previous matchup back in January of 2023 as Gunter made off with a 54-33 victory. Does Gunter have another victory up their sleeve, or will Henrietta turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
