Baseball Game Preview: Hayward Hurricanes vs. New Richmond Tigers

The Hayward Hurricanes will face off against the New Richmond Tigers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Each of these teams will be fighting to keep a win streak alive as Hayward comes in on three and New Richmond on 12.

On Friday, Hayward was able to grind out a solid victory over Northwestern, taking the game 6-1.

The team relied heavily on Kyle Gajewski, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI, one triple, and one run. Those three RBI gave him a new career-high. Trace Marino was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Meanwhile, New Richmond got themselves on the board against North on Saturday, but North never followed suit. They blew past the Polars 10-0. Considering the Tigers have won seven matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

New Richmond's win was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 12-0. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.0 runs over those games. As for Hayward, their win bumped their record up to 9-3-1.
