Baseball Game Preview: Salem Witches vs. Beverly Panthers

The Salem Witches will face off against the Beverly Panthers at 10:00 a.m. on Monday. Salem is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak.

On Saturday, Salem didn't have quite enough to beat Bishop Fenwick and fell 2-1.

Salem saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Thompson, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, it may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Beverly ultimately got the result they hoped for on Wednesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Methuen, sneaking past 4-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest win the Panthers have posted since April 16th.

Brayden Haley tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run over 4.2 innings pitched. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April.

Beverly is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups. That's provided a massive bump to their 11-8 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.9 runs on average over those games. As for Salem, they now have a losing record of 9-10.
