Softball Game Preview: Hudson Explorers vs. Nordonia Knights

Hudson is on a five-game streak of home losses dating back to last season, and Nordonia a six-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Thursday. The Hudson Explorers will look to defend their home field against the Nordonia Knights at 5:00 p.m. Given that the two teams suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this game.

Solon hit Hudson with a four-run fourth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Explorers fell 8-5 to the Comets.

Bailey Deutsch was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. That stolen base was her first of the season.

Meanwhile, Nordonia came up short against Brecksville-Broadview Heights on Wednesday and fell 9-5.

Nordonia saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kirra Smeal, who went 2-for-4 with one home run and two RBI. Another was Brooke Becker, who went 1-for-3 with one run and one RBI.

Hudson's defeat dropped their record down to 2-12. As for Nordonia, their loss dropped their record down to 5-9.
