Basketball Recap: Make It Seven in a Row for Northside

Northside waltzed into their matchup on Saturday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They blew past the Tuscaloosa Academy Knights 55-34. The Rams have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Leading Northside to victory were Kamryn Knowles and Claire Jones. Knowles posted 16 points in addition to six assists and three steals, while Jones had 11 points and three steals. The contest was Knowles' third in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Carlee Bates, who put up eight points and five rebounds.

Northside smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive rebounds in 19 consecutive matchups.

Northside's win bumped their record up to 16-3. As for Tuscaloosa Academy, they moved to 6-4 with that defeat, which also ended their three-game winning streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Northside will venture away from home to challenge Wenonah at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Wenonah will roll in looking for their 11th straight victory, something Northside surely won't give up without a fight. As for Tuscaloosa Academy, they will face off against Isabella at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
