Baseball Recap: McCollum Takes a Loss

McCollum managed to slip by Southwest the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Cowboys lost 12-1 to the Dragons on Saturday. The Cowboys were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Dragons earlier this season, when they won 4-2.

McCollum saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Sanchez, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

McCollum has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-13 record this season. As for Southwest, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 18-5-1.

McCollum does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Southwest, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Burbank at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 2.4 runs per game this season, so the Dragons' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
