Soccer Game Preview: Minersville vs. Lehighton

The Minersville Battlin' Miners will head out on the road to take on the Lehighton Indians at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Minersville has seven straight wins, Lehighton has 13 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the pitch.

Minersville is headed in fresh off scoring the most goals they have all season. They put the hurt on Weatherly with a sharp 15-0 victory on Monday. Considering Minersville have won nine contests by more than two goals this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Their offense was hitting Weatherly from everywhere, as ten different players booted in a goal. Jordan Bowers led that balanced group of strikers and accounted for three goals all by himself.

Meanwhile, Lehighton managed to keep up with Pen Argyl until halftime on Wednesday, but things quickly went downhill from there. The Indians came up short against the Green Knights, falling 3-0.

Minersville's win bumped their record up to 12-3. As for Lehighton, their loss dropped their record down to 1-13.

Minersville couldn't quite get it done against Lehighton in their previous matchup back in October of 2024 as they fell 4-2. Can the Battlin' Miners avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
