Softball Recap: Newaygo Comes Up Short

Tuesday just wasn't the day for Newaygo's offense. They lost 12-0 to the Reed City Coyotes on Tuesday. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Lions' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Newaygo saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Gabby Arney, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

This is the second loss in a row for Newaygo and nudges their season record down to 8-5. As for Reed City, the win was the sixth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 6-6.

We've got plenty of inter-league action coming up soon. Newaygo will face off against rival Kent City at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Reed City is set to challenge their familiar foe Central Montcalm at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
