Basketball Game Preview: Northridge Academy Pumas vs. Sherman Oaks CES Knights

Northridge Academy hasn't had much luck against Sherman Oaks CES recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Northridge Academy Pumas will host the Sherman Oaks CES Knights at 7:00 p.m.

Last Wednesday, Northridge Academy came up short against Valley Academy of Arts & Sciences and fell 55-48. The Pumas have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Meanwhile, Sherman Oaks CES got the win against East Valley on Wednesday by a conclusive 69-46. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 23 points or more this season.

Northridge Academy better keep an eye on Andre O'Daniel. He was instrumental in Sherman Oaks CES's win, going 11 for 25 en route to 26 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals. O'Daniel's afternoon made it 18 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Evan O'Daniel, who posted 11 points along with six steals and five boards.

Sherman Oaks CES has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 15-6 record this season. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 35.3 points. As for Northridge Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.

Things could have been worse for Northridge Academy, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 53-35 loss to Sherman Oaks CES when the teams last played on January 15th. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of O'Daniel, who almost dropped a triple-double on 24 points, 11 rebounds, and nine steals.
