Softball Recap: Cookeville Takes a Loss

Cookeville lost against Stewarts Creek two weeks ago, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Cavaliers came up short against the Red Hawks, falling 12-1.

Cookeville saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kadie Presley, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base.

Cookeville has also traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-15 record this season. That patch can't be blamed on the team's hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.5 runs over those games. As for Stewarts Creek, the win was the ninth in a row for them, bringing their record up to 21-5-1.

Coincidentally, Cookeville and Stewarts Creek will both be playing Smyrna the next time they take the field. The Cavaliers will head out to face the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, while the Red Hawks will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
