Football Recap: Arbor View Skates Past Chaparral with Ease

Arbor View got themselves on the board against Chaparral on Thursday, but Chaparral never followed suit. They blew past the Chaparral Cowboys 48-0. With that victory, the Aggies brought their scoring average up to 29 points per game.

Arbor View found their leader in freshman Priscilla Garcia, who threw for 287 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 84% of her passes, and also rushed for 34 yards. Garcia has been hot recently, having posted four or more passing touchdowns the last three times she's played. Jayda Emil was in the mix too, providing Arbor View with two touchdowns.

Arbor View was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 203 rushing yards. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their rushing yard total in three consecutive contests.

Arbor View's win was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 4-2. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 40.2 points. As for Chaparral, with the defeat, they broke their three-game winning streak and moved their record to 3-1.

Arbor View will challenge Shadow Ridge at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Shadow Ridge's defense has only allowed 11 points per game this season, so Arbor View's offense will have their work cut out for them. After both having extra time off, Chaparral and Pinecrest Academy Cadence will dust off their jerseys to take on one another at 4:30 p.m. on January 6, 2025.
