If O'Neill wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played St. Paul, they should've done a better job of containing Jackson Wegner. The Wildcats wrapped up 2025 with a 59-45 win over the Eagles for which the team can thank Wegner, who shot 71% from the field on his way to 16 points. Thanks to that strong game, he now owns an excellent 45.2% three-point shooting accuracy.

The team also got some help courtesy of Maddox Quinn, who posted eight points and six rebounds. He is also on a roll when it comes to three-point shooting accuracy, as he's posted one of at least 50% in the last three games he's played.

When it comes to explaining why O'Neill lost on Tuesday, don't look at Turner Heiss. Despite the final result, he dropped a double-double with 16 points and ten boards. Another player making a difference was Ryder Kelly, who scored 13 points and three steals.

The victory got St. Paul back to even at 4-4. As for O'Neill, their loss dropped their record down to 2-6.

St. Paul wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 48-36 defeat against Boone Central on the 2nd. As for O'Neill, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 49-47 loss against Crofton on the 2nd.
