Recap: Dreyfoos School of the Arts Jaguars vs. Leonard Lancers
The Dreyfoos School of the Arts Jaguars pushed their score all the way to 58 on Thursday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their tough 83-58 defeat to Leonard might stick with them for a while. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Monday (57), Dreyfoos School of the Arts still had to take the loss.
Several Jaguars players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zidane Guerrier, who scored 25 points along with nine assists and eight rebounds. The match was Guerrier's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyson Jimerson, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds.
Leonard had a senior duo take command as Emmanuel Augustin scored 19 points along with six assists and three steals and Cory Jones went 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 23 points and 3 assists. Those 23 points set a new season-high mark for him. Another player making a difference was Reggie Presendieu, who scored 11 points along with four blocks.
Dreyfoos School of the Arts' loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Leonard, their win bumped their record up to 5-1.
