Aeron Carr of Red Mountain ran for the longest rushing play in I Section III this season against Buena last week. Carr ran for 89 yards on the play and finished with 118 on the day as his team beat the Colts.

Mountain Ridge was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after a bye. The Mountain Lions came in at 25 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.

Jarek Hilgers was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 19 carries, he ran for 143 yards as Desert Vista defeated Chandler. Teammate Kaleb Germinaro added to the ground attack by rushing for 63 yards.

Kyle Allen threw for 334 yards and four touchdowns. He went 21-29 with one interceptions.

Clark was the best wideout in the league this week as the Broncos bested the Wolves. Clark racked up nine receptions for 194 yards. Devon Allen helped Brophy College Prep's passing attack out by catching five balls for 64 yards.

Desert Mountain's Allen and Mark Andrews have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading I Section III in both passing and receiving yards. Allen has thrown for 2892 yards this season, while Andrews, a 6-foot-6 receiver, has 78 catches for 1421 yards. Josh Hoekstra from Pinnacle leads the league in rushing with 1522 yards.

The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Red Mountain and Brophy College Prep. Ron Wisneiwski's team enters the game ranked eighth in the state, while Scooter Molander's team ranks fifth.

Going into this week's game against the Wolves, Mountain Pointe's Antonio Hinojosa needs 146 passing yards to surpass 2,000 on the season. So far this year, Hinojosa has thrown for 1854 yards with 25 touchdowns and eight interceptions.

Two of the top units in the league will face off this week when the Broncos take on the Mountain Lions. Brophy College Prep's offense has recorded 548 points this season, making them No. 1 in the league, while Red Mountain has permitted only 154 on the year.

The Broncos extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Chandler, 54-44. The victory was the eighth in a row for Brophy College Prep.
