Basketball Recap: Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Takes a Loss

If Long Prairie-Grey Eagle was feeling good fresh off their 54-28 takedown of Browerville two weeks ago, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The game between the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Thunder and the Upsala Cardinals didn't end well, with the Long Prairie-Grey Eagle Thunder falling 51-34. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Thunder this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 58-31 back in December of 2024.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Upsala to victory, but perhaps none more so than Samantha Pilarski, who posted 15 points and six boards. The matchup was Pilarski's fourth in a row with at least ten points. Dakota Soltis was another key player, putting up 21 points.

Long Prairie-Grey Eagle has been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Upsala, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
