Recap: Century Centurions vs. Webber Trojans
In what's become a running theme this season, the Century Centurions gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They blew past Webber 51-24 at home. Winning may never get old, but Century sure is getting used to it with their tenth in a row.
Century got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Navaeh Mackins out in front who scored ten points along with nine steals and seven rebounds. Mackins is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashton Dillow, who scored 18 points along with eight rebounds and three steals.
Despite the loss, Webber saw an underclassman step up: Chloe King scored eight points along with three steals. Another player making a difference was Kadi Bain, who scored four points.
Century pushed their record up to 17-2 with that win, which was their ninth straight at home. They've been dominating during the games in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 31.44 points. As for Webber, they are on a 15-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.
Century will be playing in front of their home fans against Pope County at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. That game will pit two of the most dominant players against one another: Shelby Hogg and Dillow. Webber's road trip will continue as they head out to face Meridian on January 13th. Meridian is coming into the match hot, having won their last four games.
