Basketball Recap: Hillcrest Takes a Loss

Hillcrest suffered their biggest defeat since December 10, 2024 on Friday. They came up short against the Cottonwood Colts, falling 60-38. The Huskies haven't had much luck with the Colts recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

Despite the loss, Hillcrest still got an impressive performance from Bella Christensen, who posted ten points and three steals. Another player making a difference was Addison Back, who put up seven points in addition to five boards and three steals.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cottonwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carley Caton, who went 5 of 11 on her way to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Taylor Workman, who had 13 points along with five assists and five boards.

Hillcrest's record now sits at 5-10. As for Cottonwood, they pushed their record up to 12-3 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Hillcrest didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 54-33 loss against Tooele on the 14th. As for Cottonwood, they will take on Stansbury at 5:15 p.m. on Friday.
