Soccer Recap: La Joya Community Takes a Loss

If La Joya Community was feeling good fresh off their 4-1 takedown of Paradise Valley last Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The La Joya Community Fighting Lobos fell just short of the Fairfax Stampede by a score of 2-1 on Monday. The Fighting Lobos were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stampede apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2022.

La Joya Community now has a losing record at 2-3-1. As for Fairfax, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2-1.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. La Joya Community and North will compete for holiday cheer at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. La Joya Community is facing North at the right time seeing as North is stuck on a four-game losing streak. Fairfax will take on Kellis in a holiday battle at at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Fairfax's last three matchups have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
