Basketball Recap: Havelock Comes Up Short

Havelock was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their sixth straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 31-30 heartbreaker at the hands of the Northside - Jacksonville Monarchs. The Rams were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Monarchs earlier this season, when they won 49-24.

Havelock lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Timayah Brown, who posted 13 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave her a new career-high in boards. Kaitlynn Howell was another key player, putting up seven points and ten rebounds.

Northside - Jacksonville was led to victory by Madyson Wills and Sa'Niyah Serrano. Wills dropped a double-double with ten points and 12 boards, while Serrano scored 14 points. Wills is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down 12 or more in each of the last four games she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Anyla Prass, who earned three points and 13 boards.

Havelock's defeat dropped their record down to 4-14. As for Northside - Jacksonville, their victory bumped their record up to 7-9.

Havelock has already played their next matchup, a 41-40 win against J.H. Rose on the 14th. As for Northside - Jacksonville, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 71-13 loss against Jacksonville on the 14th.
