Basketball Game Preview: Erie Red Devils vs. Cherryvale Chargers

Erie hasn't had much luck against Cherryvale recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Erie Red Devils will challenge the Cherryvale Chargers at 6:00 p.m.

Erie is headed into Tuesday's game looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their third straight game on Friday. They took a blow against Humboldt, falling 62-27. The Red Devils were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 42-13.

Erie's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Jacksen Powell, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards, and Annie Myers, who posted six points and five rebounds.

Meanwhile, Cherryvale came tearing into Friday's match with six straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 13.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They strolled past the Lions with points to spare, taking the game 55-41.

Cherryvale's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-2-1. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.3 points per game. As for Erie, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-13.

Erie was taken down by Cherryvale 68-30 when the teams last played back in January. That contest was all but decided by halftime, at which point Erie was down 48-16.
