Basketball Game Preview: San Marcos Rattlers vs. East Central Hornets

San Marcos and East Central are an even 5-5 against one another since November of 2017, but not for long. The San Marcos Rattlers will take on the East Central Hornets at 1:00 p.m. on Friday. East Central took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on San Marcos, who comes in off a win.

San Marcos took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 56-44 victory over Davenport.

Meanwhile, East Central came up short against Andress on Saturday and fell 64-57.

East Central has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 13-10 record this season. As for San Marcos, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games, which provided a massive bump to their 15-10 record this season.

San Marcos came up short against East Central in their previous matchup back in February of 2024, falling 71-61. Can San Marcos avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
