Soccer Recap: Plant City vs. Sumner
After flying high against Spoto last Tuesday, Plant City came back down to earth. The Plant City Raiders fell just short of the Sumner Stingrays by a score of 1-0 on Tuesday. The Raiders were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Stingrays apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.
Plant City's loss dropped their record down to 2-2. As for Sumner, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 3-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Plant City's road trip will continue as they head out to face Newsome at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Newsome is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 5.7 goals per game this season. As for Sumner, they will face off against East Bay at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday.
