Baseball Recap: Damonte Ranch Takes a Loss

After flying high against Wooster last Tuesday, Damonte Ranch came back down to earth. The Damonte Ranch Mustangs came up short against the McQueen Lancers on Tuesday, falling 11-4. The loss continues a trend for the Mustangs in their meetings with the Lancers: they've now lost six in a row.

Topher Shirley was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 4-for-4.

Damonte Ranch's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for McQueen, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 4-3-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Damonte Ranch will venture away from home to challenge Galena at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. As for McQueen, they will head out on the road to face off against Bishop Manogue at 3:45 p.m. on Thursday. McQueen knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three games -- so hopefully Bishop Manogue likes a good challenge.
