Football Recap: Holt Indians vs. Winfield Warriors
If Winfield wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Holt, they should've done a better job of containing Ivan Dean. The Indians simply couldn't be stopped on Friday as they easily beat the Warriors 41-6 thanks in part to Dean, who rushed for 97 yards and one touchdown on only nine carries, and also threw for 136 yards and three TDs on perfect 10-for-10 passing. He got the majority of those rushing yards when he took off on a run that went for an incredible 54 yards.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Holt's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Austin Hofmeister, Zay Amman, and Zach Abron, who each picked up one sack apiece.
The win made it two in a row for Holt and bumps their season record up to 2-3. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.0 points over those games. As for Winfield, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-4.
