Basketball Game Preview: Stratford Knights vs. Berkeley Stags

The Stratford Knights will take on the Berkeley Stags at 8:30 p.m. on Monday.

It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 74-37, which was the final score in Stratford's tilt against Cane Bay on Thursday. The Knights have struggled against the Cobras recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Berkeley, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 64-36 victory over Wando. Given the Stags' advantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 32nd, while the Warriors are ranked 156th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Berkeley's win was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 16-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points over those games. As for Stratford, their defeat dropped their record down to 7-12.

Things could have been worse for Stratford, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 65-51 loss to Berkeley in their previous matchup back in January.
