Football Game Preview: Golden Demons vs. Air Academy Kadets + Official Tickets

The Golden Demons will be playing at home against the Air Academy Kadets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Golden gave up the first points on Friday, but they didn't give up any more after. They came out on top against Highlands Ranch by a score of 21-14. The victory almost wasn't to be: the Demons were down 14-0 in the second quarter.

Golden got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Austin Demling out in front who threw for 130 yards and three touchdowns. Those 130 passing yards gave Demling a new career-high. Ethan Bonafede also helped with two TDs in total.

On the other side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Golden's defense and their three sacks. The team can thank three different players for their defensive prowess: Joey Filippone, Ben Adler, and Andrew Stefanski, who each picked up one sack apiece. Another thorn in Highlands Ranch's side was Filippone, who picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made 11 total tackles.

Meanwhile, Air Academy hadn't done well against Rampart recently (they were 0-7 in their previous seven matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. The Kadets put the hurt on the Rams with a sharp 36-12 victory. The Kadets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by 24 points or more this season.

Golden better keep an eye on Madden Pohl. He was instrumental in Air Academy's win, rushing for 103 yards and a pair of scores on only 12 carries.

Air Academy didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Eli Malnar and Dakari Burr. Air Academy is undefeated when Burr posts one or more interceptions, but 2-5 otherwise. Malnar got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.

Golden's record is now 7-3. As for Air Academy, the win got them back to even at 5-5.
