Basketball Recap: Greer Middle College Comes Up Short

After flying high against GREEN Upstate last Wednesday, Greer Middle College came back down to earth. The Greer Middle College Blazers had to suffer through a 74-25 loss at the hands of the Chapman Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Blazers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' South Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while the Panthers are ranked 118th).

Krislyn Wilder continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines for Chapman, going 9 for 13 on her way to 19 points in addition to five assists and five boards. With that strong performance, Wilder is now averaging an impressive 2.1 steals per game. The team also got some help courtesy of Annastyn Smith, who went 6 of 10 on her way to 14 points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Greer Middle College dropped their record down to 3-11 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Chapman, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-9.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greer Middle College will challenge Woodruff at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Chapman, they will square off against Mountain View Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
