Volleyball Game Preview: Stevenson Patriots vs. Fremd Vikings

The Stevenson Patriots will venture away from home to square off against the Fremd Vikings at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Stevenson is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Thursday. They came out on top against Hersey by a score of 2-0. The Patriots have beaten the Huskies the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Huskies has come to flipping the script.

Stevenson got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Jane Tan out in front who had 13 assists and three digs. Another player making a difference was Lexi Randle El, who had ten digs and two assists.

Meanwhile, Fremd beat Lake Zurich 2-0 on Thursday.

Fremd not only won, but also showed off some consistency: they kept Lake Zurich between 18 and 20 points across their sets. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 25-18.

Stevenson's record now sits at 24-12. As for Fremd, their record is now 28-7.

Stevenson couldn't quite get it done against Fremd when the teams last played back in November of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Patriots avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
