Baseball Game Preview: Adams Cougars vs. White Longhorns

Adams is 0-3 against White since April of 2022 but things could change on Thursday. The Cougars will square off against the Longhorns at 5:00 p.m. Adams is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.1 runs per game this season.

Adams couldn't beat Poteet on Friday even though they stacked four runs on them in the first inning. The Cougars fell just short of the Pirates by a score of 9-7. That's two games in a row now that the Cougars have lost by exactly two runs.

Emilio Wong made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and fired off two home runs, three RBI, and one double while going 3-for-4. Sean Morales was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base and one run.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 11 runs the game before, White was a bit more limited in their contest on Friday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Adamson.

This is the second loss in a row for Adams and nudges their season record down to 12-9. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only two runs. As for White, their defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 16-14-1.

Adams suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to White in their previous meeting back in February of 2023. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
