Basketball Recap: Ignacio Comes Up Short

Ignacio extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping them down to 8-12. They were beaten by the Montezuma-Cortez Panthers 56-24. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Panthers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 80-25 back in January.

As for Montezuma-Cortez, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 21-0. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 64.8 points this season.

Trey Hall continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, shooting 62% from the field on his way to 18 points in addition to six steals and five boards. Hall is crushing it when it comes to steals: he's grabbed at least two every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Trace Hartsoe, who posted eight points and ten rebounds.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Ignacio will challenge Alamosa at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Bobcats will be up against the Mean Moose's rather soft defense (which has allowed 56.33 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Montezuma-Cortez, they will face off against Monte Vista at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
