Softball Game Preview: Spackenkill Spartans vs. Pawling Tigers

The Spackenkill Spartans are taking a road trip to take on the Pawling Tigers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Spackenkill is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.8 runs per game this season.

On Thursday, Spackenkill didn't have quite enough to beat Roosevelt and fell 7-6. The Spartans have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Adriana Alessandro and Addison Whitted did some serious damage despite the final result: Alessandro went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI, while Whitted went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. Olivia Simon also deserves some recognition as she snagged her first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Pawling gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener back in April. They walked away with a 12-7 win over Dover. The victory was nothing new for the Tigers as they're now sitting on four straight dating back to last season.

Spackenkill's loss dropped their record down to 7-6. As for Pawling, they pushed their record up to 1-0 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
